Some of the ski resorts that you can ski...
HEAVENLY SKI RESORT
Heavenly Ski Resort is located in the Sierra Nevada Mountain Range at Monument Peak, straddling the state line between California and Nevada.
Overlooking the south shore of beautiful Lake Tahoe, Heavenly is a ski resort like no other in the world.
A resort with a mountain so big, it straddles two states. One with views so beautiful, you'll think your skiing in a postcard. One with weather so unique, you can anticipate over 360 inches of snow and 300 days of sun a year. And nightlife so wild, sleep seems overrated!
Few ski resorts match Heavenly's superior scenic beauty and expansive network of lifts, terrain, trails and snowmaking. The only Bi-state resort in the United States features 17 lifts in California and 12 lifts in Nevada.
Heavenly currently has one of America's largest snowmaking systems. Extensive investments for new grooming machines & upgraded snowmaking systems continue to improve your ride.
This is also one of North America's largest ski areas with 4,800 acres of terrain. Skiers ski for miles, surrounded by the towering peaks of the Sierra while overlooking Lake Tahoe, the high deserts of Nevada and the ranch lands of the Carson Valley.
Heavenly has the longest vertical drop in the Tahoe Basin with a mountain descent more than five miles long. From long intermediate cruisers to the chutes of Mott Canyon to the gentle slopes of the beginner areas, Heavenly has variety for skiers of all abilities.
SQUAW VALLEY SKI RESORT
Located on the North Shore of Lake Tahoe, Squaw Valley USA became world-famous in 1960 as host to the Winter Olympics. Offering 4,000 skiable acres, the most expansive lift network in America and some of the deepest snow in the world, Squaw Valley USA is a mecca for winter sports enthusiasts.
To ensure time is spent skiing, not waiting in lift lines, Squaw is serviced by one of the most extensive lift networks in the world.
With 31 lifts and an uphill capacity of 49,000 skiers per hour, Squaw Valley has become one of the largest ski areas in the country. Because of its immense size, Squaw caters to skiers of all abilities.
Seventy percent of Squaw's terrain is geared for the beginner and intermediate skier with wide, open bowls and miles of meticulously groomed runs. For the more adventurous skier, vast areas have been left in their pristine state for a true wilderness experience and some of the best advanced skiing anywhere.
KIRKWOOD SKI RESORT
At 7,800 feet, Kirkwood has the highest base elevation of all Northern California ski resorts, with a 2,000-foot vertical drop and an average of 529 inches of snow each year.
The resort features 12 lifts and 2,300 acres of skiable terrain, offering beginning, intermediate and advanced skiers and snowboarders challenging chutes, wide open bowls and panoramic views of the Sierra.
